Trump Describes Second Assassination Attempt During X Spaces Interview

Overview Former President Trump recounted a thwarted assassination attempt that occurred on Sunday afternoon while he was playing golf.

Secret Service Response Trump praised the Secret Service for their swift action, saying, "It worked out well, and they have the man behind bars, and hopefully he's going to be there for a long time."

Golf Incident Trump described the scene: "I was playing golf with some of my friends... and all of a sudden we heard shots being fired... probably four or five."

Immediate Action The Secret Service recognized the sound of gunfire instantly. "They grabbed me, and we got into the carts, and we moved along pretty, pretty good."

Agent’s Quick Thinking Trump mentioned a Secret Service agent who noticed the barrel of an AK-47: "He started shooting at the barrel... and ran toward the target."

Civilian Help A civilian played a crucial role by photographing the license plate of the would-be assassin’s vehicle and providing it to the sheriff's office.

Escape and Capture The attacker fled across the street and into a truck or car. Thanks to the civilian's quick thinking, the suspect's details were captured and reported.

Reaction to Assassination Attempts When asked about facing two assassination attempts in two months, Trump said, "There's a lot of rhetoric going on right now... it seems that both of these people were radical left."

First Attempt Reference Trump briefly mentioned the first assassination attempt, referring to the Butler shooter and indicating that more investigation is needed.
