Starlink slashes equipment price: Starlink has permanently reduced its satellite dish price to $299, from $599, making its internet service more affordable.

$100 service credit offered: Customers in 29 states with "abundant network availability" will receive a $100 service credit if they purchase a dish during the promotional period.

State-specific discount: The discount was initially limited to certain regions, but is now expanded to 29 states where Starlink has surplus network availability.

One-time promotion: The promotional offer with the $100 service credit initially had an end date in early October but is now ongoing.

Address restriction clause: Starlink has warned customers that changing service addresses outside of the regional savings area will revoke the $100 credit, resulting in the full price.

No Starlink comment: Starlink did not provide a direct response regarding the new pricing strategy or further details about the promotion.

Busy period for Starlink: The price reduction comes during a busy time for the company, with new products and services rolling out.

Starlink Mini launch: In July, Starlink introduced the Starlink Mini, a compact satellite dish about the size of a laptop with a built-in router for portable use.

Invite-only family plan: In August, Starlink quietly launched a family plan available by invitation only to select U.S. customers.

Affordable internet expansion: These developments are part of Starlink's efforts to make satellite internet more accessible and cater to a broader customer base.
